September 24, 2017 - The Word on the Street Toronto

Description: The Word On The Street is a non-profit organization that celebrates Canadian reading, writing, and champions literacy primarily through a free, annual outdoor festival. Each September, in communities from coast-to-coast, we invite everyone to participate in hundreds of author events, presentations and workshops, and to browse a marketplace that boasts the best selection of Canadian books and magazines you’ll find anywhere. And it’s free!

Where: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Website: https://thewordonthestreet.ca/toronto/

Event: Perception is NOT Reality
4:15-5:15pm

What happens when you know the truth about someone (perhaps that person being yourself) but everyone else doesn’t see this truth? Or vice versa? Jennifer Gold, S.K Ali, Liane Shaw, and M-E Girard show us the difference between perception and reality.

Want to book me for something?

I love meeting readers, educators, and other writers. I am always thrilled to set up events and appearances, and would love to get your invite!

What you need to know:

  • I am available for author visits, to facilitate workshops, to perform readings, to give lectures, and for event appearances.
  • I offer free virtual author visits via Skype! More information to come (do email me if interested).
  • I've facilitated workshops on a variety of topics (short story writing, the writing life, agent querying process, writing fiction, writing YA literature, writing for or about queer people), for a variety of individuals (children and teens, writers of all stages, queer and non-queer people).
  • I am fluent in English and French, so I can speak and facilitate workshops in either language.
  • My style is informal and conversational, and I use a lot of humor. I'm comfortable in front of a small group, or a large one.
  • You can find my speaker profile in the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI) speaker bureau.

Please contact me via email or my contact form for more information.
